The 1950 Allard J2 was powered by a range of American V8 engines, most notably the Cadillac 331 cubic inch (5.4-liter) OHV V8. This Allard is the only J2 to have been originally equipped with a Ford Flathead modified with the power enhancing Ardun heads. The combination of the powerful V8 and the car’s agile handling made the Allard J2 a formidable competitor in early postwar sports car racing.
